With a strong market presence worth $6.76 billion, Resideo serves over 100,000 contractors, installers, dealers, and integrators across HVAC, security, fire, electrical, and home comfort markets worldwide. Their renowned product brands, including Honeywell Home, First Alert, and Resideo, are trusted in over 150 million residential and commercial spaces globally. Resideo’s commitment to innovation and quality is supported by a diverse workforce of over 14,000 employees and a comprehensive distribution network in 17 countries.
The assembler role at Resideo offers a full-time permanent, union-affiliated position on the 1st shift, with the possibility of working overtime and weekends depending on demand. The assembler is vital to the manufacturing process, responsible for setting up and operating various light and automatic assembly and packing machines to produce parts and sub-assemblies in strict compliance with quality and safety standards. The position requires a flexible team player capable of troubleshooting, performing setups, and making adjustments to ensure machines run efficiently and products meet specifications.
The assembler will operate machinery safely and efficiently, performing visual, mechanical, and electrical checks on components and sub-assemblies, using calibration tools and gauges to maintain high quality. Key responsibilities include making unit and multiple pack cartons, sealing, labeling, performing operator maintenance checks, and rotating through department jobs to address bottlenecks effectively. The role involves hands-on work following engineering documentation, prints, and process instructions, emphasizing continuous improvement through data gathering, downtime tracking, and adherence to Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) principles like 5S, Kaizen, and Tiered Accountability.
This position is ideal for individuals with at least six months of experience in assembly or machine operation within a manufacturing setting and an interest in developing skills with a broad range of equipment, including hand tools, inspection gauges, soldering equipment, and semi-automated machines. Candidates will also have opportunities to earn certifications and participate in ongoing training programs.
Working conditions involve exposure to various chemicals, mandatory use of personal protective equipment, adherence to safety protocols including Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls, and maintaining cleanliness and organization through 5S activities. Resideo values candidates with mechanical repair experience, computer literacy, strong communication skills, a proactive work ethic, and creativity. Benefits include immediate vacation and sick leave, comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance, a 401k retirement matching program, and an employee stock purchase program.
