Residential Aide - Healing Center - 7 am to 3:30 pm

The Residential Aide role at the SMSC Healing Center involves direct, compassionate care and supervision of adult residents within the facility. This position focuses on maintaining safety, wellbeing, and structure while fostering a healing space that respects cultural traditions and embraces trauma-informed principles. Residential Aides are instrumental in ensuring residents’ physical and emotional safety by supporting daily routines, overseeing groups and activities, assisting with admissions, and documenting client progress. They collaborate closely with clinical, nursing, and cultural staff to integrate traditional healing practices and cultural activities such as talking circles and ceremonies.

Beyond routine supervision and assistance with daily chores, the Residential Aide is responsible for monitoring client behavior, administering medications and screenings per protocol, transporting clients to appointments and cultural outings, and responding effectively to crises with empathy and professionalism. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain healthy boundaries, while consistently promoting treatment goals and program rules.
