Resident Service Specialist

This part-time role, reporting directly to the Resident Services Manager, offers an opportunity to work approximately 16 hours a week during the afternoon hours, primarily assigned to two sites in Elk Grove. The incumbent will be instrumental in the marketing, planning, and implementation of resident service programs, ensuring they align with the stated objectives and regulatory agreements of the housing community. The role requires a professional who excels in interpersonal communication and collaboration, maintaining positive relationships with property management teams, community agencies, contracted service providers when applicable, and residents themselves.

The role not only involves administrative and event planning duties but also demands creativity and accountability in program delivery. Part of the job includes understanding resident demographics and the needs within the property’s market boundaries to provide direct and meaningful services. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to use digital tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and graphic design platforms like Photoshop, Printshop, or Canva to create engaging materials and program promotions. Moreover, the role requires the individual to be proactive in resolving conflicts, addressing resident concerns with honesty and sensitivity, and providing resources to prevent behavioral problems within the programs.

In addition to executing programs, the candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of resident services by collaborating with management and team members. They must show respect and inclusivity toward residents, other staff, and community members, while also demonstrating adaptability to overcome setbacks or roadblocks.

Physical presence on-site is essential, with some roles requiring physical activities such as walking over uneven terrain, stair climbing, and handling materials weighing up to 25 pounds. The organization seeks candidates who have some work or volunteer experience, preferably with a background in early childhood education, social work, or human services. A clean driving record, the ability to pass a national criminal background check including fingerprinting, and at least two years of acceptable work history are required.
