Job Description
Doves Manor, located at 1040 Brookview Dr., Toledo, OH 43615, is a community-oriented residential property dedicated to providing safe, stable, and supportive housing for low-income individuals, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities. The property aims to foster a sense of community while promoting self-sufficiency and enhancing the quality of life for all its residents. As part of its commitment to resident welfare, Doves Manor emphasizes connecting residents with various social, emotional, educational, employment, and medical resources through personalized services tailored to individual and group needs. The establishment is managed under the supervision of dedicated professionals, including the RRN Quality Assurance Manager, ensuring a high standard of service delivery and adherence to housing regulations.
The Service Coordinator position at Doves Manor offers a valuable opportunity for a compassionate, experienced individual to work directly with residents to enhance their living experiences. This part-time role involves 14 hours per week, focusing on identifying the diverse needs of residents, liaising with community support agencies, and coordinating services to assist residents in achieving housing stability, self-sufficiency, and improved well-being. The Service Coordinator functions as a critical link between residents and community resources, creating networks and facilitating access to programs that address recreational, health, educational, and spiritual needs.
In this role, the Service Coordinator will conduct comprehensive assessments to establish individual and group goals, develop directories of local social service agencies, maintain confidentiality, and promote a culture of professionalism and trust. Key responsibilities encompass fostering community building by organizing and facilitating resident groups, newsletters, welcome committees, and various community programs. Additionally, the Coordinator advocates for residents by raising awareness among service providers, managing referrals for case management in situations involving health or safety risks, and assisting with fair hearing applications when services are denied.
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree or higher in human services or a related field, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. At least three years of relevant experience serving low-income populations, seniors, and persons with disabilities is essential. Candidates should have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data management tools to efficiently handle record-keeping and reporting duties. This role also requires knowledge of housing rules, such as reasonable accommodations and lease compliance, to effectively address and manage resident concerns.
Working at Doves Manor as a Service Coordinator not only means contributing to the well-being of a diverse resident community but also engaging in meaningful work that strengthens community ties and supports residents' independence and empowerment. This role is suited for individuals passionate about social services, community building, and advocacy, looking to apply their skills in a supportive and impactful environment. The position reports directly to the RRN Quality Assurance Manager, ensuring continuous quality monitoring and alignment with housing and social service standards.
