Job Description

Zeta is an innovative and mission-driven educational organization dedicated to transforming public education in New York City and beyond. With a commitment to providing a world-class education combined with social-emotional development, Zeta operates numerous elementary and middle schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens. Their emphasis on academic excellence is paired with nurturing a love for learning in every student, ensuring that every child in every community has access to an equitable and excellent education. As part of their continuing growth, Zeta plans to open one to two new schools annually and will be introducing their first high school class starting in the 2026-27 academic year, extending their proven PreK-8 educational model to a comprehensive PreK-12 pathway.

The role of the Resident Operations Director at Zeta is a unique 6-12 month full-time developmental program designed to prepare talented individuals for the critical position of Operations Director within a Zeta school. This role places the candidate directly within an existing school, integrating them as a key member of the operations team. As an operational leader, the Resident Operations Director will oversee and enhance school operational efficiency, manage school facilities, and contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and world-class educational environment for students, staff, and families. This role requires a strong project management background, exceptional organizational skills, and a high level of operational excellence. The Resident Operations Director will take on both short-term and long-term strategic projects that impact both the host school and the broader Zeta network.

Zeta fosters a vibrant, supportive community of lifelong learners who bring passion, growth mindset, collaboration, humility, and data-informed decision making to their roles. Their culture is centered around putting the team and students first, holding a high bar for excellence, and continuously striving to disrupt the status quo in public education. The hiring process for this role is continuous, with the official start date for the 2026-27 school year set for July 6, 2026. The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $92,500, with new hires typically entering at the starting range depending on experience and internal equity. Immediate starters may be eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus. Additionally, eligible staff may receive up to $2,500 in relocation reimbursement.

Zeta is committed to the professional development and personal well-being of its staff, offering comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, and a 403(b) retirement plan with matching contributions. Employees also enjoy unique perks including a monthly wellness stipend, access to therapy sessions, a Headspace subscription, technology provisions like a MacBook Air, fully stocked workrooms, team activities, and professional development resources. Zeta prides itself on fostering a growth-oriented environment with regular feedback, community-building practices, and inclusivity focused programming.
