Job Description

The employer is a regional housing management entity that oversees multiple residential properties and aims to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment for its residents. This organization is committed to delivering quality custodial and emergency response services across its properties to ensure a comfortable and secure living experience. The emphasis on community safety, responsiveness, and upkeep reflects a dedicated approach to property management and resident care, fostering a supportive and well-maintained housing atmosphere.

The role being offered is an on-site janitorial and custodial position with critical responsibilities extending beyond routine cleaning tasks. This job requires the individual to reside at the assigned property, providing 24-hour emergency response availability to address urgent concerns as they arise. The core duty involves maintaining the cleanliness and security of common residential areas such as recreation rooms, laundry rooms, kitchens, and restrooms. The individual will be responsible for monitoring community spaces to ensure appropriate resident use and maintaining safety standards. This includes oversight of parking areas, posting tags on unauthorized vehicles, coordinating with maintenance or towing services, and participating actively in community affairs through resident meetings or neighborhood activities.

The position is unique in that it is a non-wage role where the selected candidate does not receive a monetary salary but is provided with rent-free housing as compensation. This innovative housing arrangement requires the employee to live on-site, making them immediately available to respond to emergencies or residents' needs at any time. The job comes with a strong supervisory framework, receiving direct guidance from regional and area housing managers, ensuring that standards are met and issues are addressed promptly while promoting efficient communication and coordination.

The janitorial/custodial staff member will maintain logs of incidents and keep the housing manager updated, allowing the management to address patterns or specific concerns quickly. The successful candidate will also be instrumental in executing safety protocols, such as fire evacuation plans, ensuring that residents are supported and protected during emergencies. This role emphasizes reliability and consistent attendance, as the community's well-being depends heavily on the availability and responsiveness of the on-site custodian.

Overall, this opportunity is ideal for an individual seeking a hands-on role in residential property management that combines janitorial duties, resident interaction, and emergency preparedness. It offers a unique blend of professional responsibility and personal investment in a community environment, packaged within a rent-free housing benefit that aligns with the role's demands for continuous on-site presence and proactive maintenance support. The role's comprehensive scope and the housing compensation structure make it an appealing position for candidates looking for steady involvement in community care and property maintenance without traditional wage compensation.
