The available position at The Highlands at Pittsford is for a full-time care team member supporting both Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. This role is vital in delivering high-quality care and enhancing the lives of residents on a daily basis. The employment offers varied full-time shifts, including evening hours from 3 PM to 11 PM and day shifts from 6:30 AM to 3 PM, with a workweek comprising 37.5 hours. The role also includes scheduled weekend and holiday rotations, reflecting the commitment to continuous resident support.

In this role, the primary responsibility is to assist residents with their personal care needs and the administration of medications according to established medical orders and individual service plans. Care team members play a crucial role in observing residents' overall health, responding promptly to emergencies, and ensuring all medical and confidential information is handled with the utmost care and respect. Additionally, the role involves supporting recreational activities and providing assistance during meal times to enhance residents' daily living experience.

The position also entails light housekeeping duties such as cleaning apartments and common areas, managing linen changes, and assisting with personal laundry to maintain a hygienic and comfortable environment for all residents. The successful candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience as a Medication Aide within assisted living, memory care, home care, or skilled nursing settings. While certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is not mandatory, it is considered a valuable asset.

Compensation for this role ranges from $17.50 to $21.50 per hour depending on experience, with additional generous shift differentials offered. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years experience working as a medication aide in assisted living, memory care, home care or skilled nursing setting
  • Ability to assist residents with personal care and medication administration
  • Ability to perform light housekeeping duties
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and resident rights

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience working as a medication aide in assisted living, memory care, home care or skilled nursing setting
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification as an HHA or PCA is not required but can be helpful

Job Duties

  • Assists residents with personal care and activities of daily living as per individual service plan
  • Assists in observing overall health status of residents and informing the Director or designee of issues
  • Safeguards medical records of residents, maintains confidentiality and upholds resident rights
  • Assists with recreational activities as needed
  • Assists residents and dining services staff during meal service
  • Answers resident emergency call system promptly, evaluates the situation and resolves as needed, including contacting emergency personnel and/or physicians and families, and arranging for transportation for treatment as necessary
  • Listens and responds to residents’ concerns and reports issues to the proper discipline
  • Assists with the administration of medications and treatments as per MD orders and documents assistance in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Assists with inventory, ordering and proper storage of medications
  • Performs light housekeeping in apartments and common areas as needed
  • Assists with linen changes and personal laundry weekly and as needed per care schedule
