Job Description
Benedictine Living is a compassionate non-profit senior care organization founded by the sisters of St. Scholastica. With a deep-rooted commitment to their four core values—Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect, and Justice—Benedictine Living strives to create a comforting and empowering culture for both residents and associates. The organization takes pride in its extraordinary team of caring associates who work tirelessly to support the wellness, comfort, and dignity of its residents. Operating across the upper Midwest, Benedictine Living provides a range of senior living options and care services designed to meet the unique needs of older adults. As a ministry partner, Benedictine Living is focused on nurturing a welcoming community where residents can thrive and associates are valued as essential members of the caregiving family.
The Resident Assistant (RA) role at Benedictine Living is a vital position that forms the heart of their residential care approach. This part-time position (shift from 10 pm to 2 am) involves supporting residents with daily living activities and enhancing their quality of life through compassionate and dedicated care. Resident Assistants are responsible for maintaining personal living environments for residents and providing observations and documentation related to their care. The role also includes assisting with the onboarding of new Associates, ensuring that new team members feel supported and integrated into the community culture.
To excel as a Resident Assistant, you will need excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities independently, and the capacity to respond with empathy and professionalism. Candidates must be 18 or older to operate lift equipment in compliance with legal statutes and hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additionally, Resident Assistants must complete and maintain assigned medication administration training and competencies to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.
This role offers a meaningful opportunity to build meaningful relationships through direct interaction with residents, fostering social connection and community spirit in a supportive environment. The position not only involves personal care but also contributes to the holistic well-being of each resident by helping to create a respectful and nurturing living space.
Benedictine Living offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.91 to $21.94 and provides a robust benefits package for eligible associates. This includes paid time off (PTO), retirement plans, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, education assistance, and various voluntary benefits options. Through these offerings, Benedictine Living supports their team members' personal and professional growth at every life stage.
If you are confident, self-sufficient, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors, this role invites you to join an extraordinary team dedicated to hospitality and compassionate care. Embrace the opportunity to work within a values-driven organization that prioritizes respect and justice while fostering a strong sense of community connection. Join Benedictine Living as a Resident Assistant and take part in a career that makes a meaningful impact every day.
