Job Description

Currently, QSL Management is seeking a Resident Assistant for The Barclay House of Aiken. This position serves a vital role in supporting assisted living and memory care residents by offering companionship, assistance with daily living activities, and participation in wellness programs. The Resident Assistant will act as a compassionate caregiver and an active participant in promoting a joyful and secure living environment. The role entails helping with bathing, dressing, feeding, and other personal care tasks, alongside reporting any changes in residents' health and well-being to ensure prompt and appropriate interventions. Moreover, the Resident Assistant will engage residents in memory and performance improvement activities, contributing to their cognitive and emotional health.

This position also includes general housekeeping and laundry duties and assisting during dining times as directed by the leadership team, all aimed at maintaining a clean, organized, and pleasant living space. The Resident Assistant will also participate in activities designed to keep residents socially engaged and happy, fostering community and connection among the senior population.

Job Requirements

  • Must have a caring heart and willingness to serve others
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current CNA certification preferred but not required unless state requirement
  • CPR or First Aid certification preferred
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Experience working with older adults preferred
  • Successful completion of state background check and drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification preferred but not required unless state-mandated
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Experience working with older adults preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Supports assisted living and memory care residents with companionship and daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Reports changes in resident health and completes daily data sheets
  • Assists residents with memory and performance improvement programs
  • Performs housekeeping and laundry tasks
  • Assists with dining as needed or directed by leadership
