Job Description
Homestead is a well-established senior living community located in Westland, highly recognized for its commitment to excellence in elder care. With a vibrant and supportive environment, Homestead has earned the prestigious Top Workplace honor from The Detroit Free Press, a testament to the company’s dedication to creating a positive and engaging workplace culture. This award, based solely on employee feedback, highlights Homestead’s focus on valuing its team members through specialized training, employee referral programs, and providing numerous opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
The community at Homestead prides itself on delivering compassionate, high-quality care to elderly residents, disabled individuals, or those recovering from illnesses. The focus is not only on meeting the physical needs of the residents but also providing emotional support that fosters dignity, comfort, and respect. At Homestead, employees work together to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment where every resident feels valued and cared for.
We are currently seeking dedicated Caregivers and experienced Medication Technicians (Med Techs) who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. The role involves offering direct care and companionship to residents, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, walking, and transferring. Caregivers and Med Techs also play an essential role in administering medications and injections accurately in accordance with physicians’ orders, ensuring that all health and safety standards, including infection control procedures, are rigorously followed.
This position offers a rewarding career path for those looking to develop valuable skills like patience, empathy, and communication while working in a supportive and growth-oriented team. Homestead provides a nurturing environment where new and seasoned employees receive paid orientation and ongoing training to enhance their knowledge and professional abilities.
In addition to their hands-on duties, candidates will be expected to observe residents closely, monitor changes in their conditions, and promptly communicate with supervisors to provide timely interventions. Duties also include light housekeeping to ensure clean and safe living spaces, assisting residents during meal times, and responding promptly to call lights as part of providing excellent care. Teamwork is highly encouraged, with assistance given to other staff members as needed to maintain smooth operations within the community.
The role is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and committed to providing exemplary elder care. Homestead supports its employees with a competitive benefits package, including paid time off starting from day one, medical, dental, and vision benefits for full-time employees, daily pay options, and employee recognition events. If you are passionate about making a positive difference and eager to join a leading senior living community known for its workplace excellence, Homestead invites you to apply and become part of our dedicated team.
