Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton is an iconic name in the luxury hospitality industry, recognized worldwide for providing exceptional guest experiences and unparalleled service. With a portfolio of more than 100 award-winning hotels across the globe, The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on its commitment to quality, attention to detail, and creating lasting memories for its guests. It is a proud member of Marriott International, one of the world's leading hospitality companies, known for its inclusive culture and dedication to diversity and equal opportunity employment. The company fosters an environment where associates are empowered, inspired, and encouraged to be creative, kind, and compassionate in their roles, ensuring every guest experience is memorable from the moment of arrival to departure.

This full-time, non-management position is located at the prestigious Ritz-Carlton hotel at 1 Renaissance Square, White Plains, New York. As a substitute team member within the Rooms and Guest Services Operations category, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of service that define The Ritz-Carlton brand. The role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $25.80 to $26.73, reflecting the importance of delivering excellence consistently.

The responsibilities of this position revolve around providing guests with comprehensive information and directions regarding hotel amenities, services, service hours, and local attractions. You will act as the crucial communication channel between guests and various hotel departments such as Bell Services, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security to promptly resolve any guest requests or issues. Following up with guests to ensure their satisfaction is an essential part of this role, reflecting the company’s commitment to exceptional service.

In addition to guest interaction, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, recording, and transmitting messages, maintaining confidentiality, and protecting company property. Observing all security protocols and immediately reporting accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management is critical. Personal appearance and professionalism, including a neat uniform, are emphasized to uphold the luxury brand’s image.

Working at The Ritz-Carlton means embracing the “Gold Standards” every day – a set of principles that guide the employee promise, credo, and service values. These foundational standards help cultivate a culture of excellence and teamwork, where every team member works together toward common service goals. This role also demands clear and professional communication, both in person and over the phone, while being attentive to guests with disabilities and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods during shifts, and the ability to move or carry objects up to 10 pounds. The substitute nature of the position means employees must be flexible and ready to assist with a variety of reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors. Although no prior experience in a similar role or supervisory experience is required, a high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate is necessary.

Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a world-class team committed to luxury hospitality and guest care. The company promotes an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated and every associate is respected. Employees have the opportunity to grow, learn, and achieve their best potential while contributing to the success of a globally recognized luxury brand. Working here is more than a job; it is a path to personal and professional fulfillment, where you can take pride in the exceptional work you do and the team you support.
