The Assistant General Manager role at Residence Inn Tyler is a central leadership position that involves overseeing multiple hotel departments, driving profitability, and ensuring operational excellence. This position is overtime eligible, requiring a dynamic individual who can take charge in the absence of the General Manager and maintain smooth daily operations. Responsibilities include supervising diverse teams, enhancing guest satisfaction, managing financial aspects like budgeting and cost control, and supporting recruitment and training initiatives. Job Requirements

  • At least five years of progressive hotel experience or a four-year degree with 2-3 years experience or a two-year degree with 3-4 years experience
  • Supervisory background required
  • Ability to stay calm and objective under pressure
  • Must hold or obtain certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid

Job Qualifications

  • At least five years of progressive hotel experience including Rooms or Food and Beverage
  • Supervisory experience in a hospitality environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple teams successfully
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems
  • Certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid preferred or must obtain
  • Ability to remain calm and objective under pressure

Job Duties

  • Supervise multiple departments and drive hotel profitability by managing teams and partnering with the General Manager
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational challenges to ensure efficiency
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, and training of Guest Services staff along with development programs for employees
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with staff and guests
  • Manage financial information to support hotel operations
  • Utilize Windows Operating Systems for management and reporting
  • Enforce professional appearance and grooming standards
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and foster a friendly atmosphere
