The role of Assistant General Manager at Residence Inn Phoenix Mesa is a pivotal leadership position responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing hotel operations to ensure a seamless guest experience and drive operational success. As the Assistant General Manager, you will supervise multiple departments, manage team performance, and enforce company standards for service and appearance. An essential part of this role is maintaining open lines of communication with guests and staff to address concerns efficiently and effectively. Financial acumen is critical in this role as you will be responsible for managing budgets, controls, and reports to boost profitability. The position demands strong leadership skills to coach and develop talent across various functions within the hotel. This is an overtime eligible managerial position which involves hands-on involvement every day, with overtime computed as required.

Candidates for this role should be adept problem solvers with the ability to remain composed under pressure, skilled in fostering team collaboration, and proficient in technology tools, especially Windows Operating Systems used for management. Certifications in Food Handling, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid are required or must be obtained upon hire. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years progressive hotel experience or relevant degree with experience
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Ability to stay calm and objective under pressure
  • Must hold or obtain Food Handler, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid certifications
  • Ability to work overtime as an overtime eligible manager
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems

Job Qualifications

  • At least five years of progressive hotel experience in rooms or food and beverage
  • Four-year degree with 2-3 years of related experience or two-year degree with 3-4 years of related experience
  • Supervisory background with proven leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Proficient with Windows Operating Systems
  • Certifications such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid required or must be obtained

Job Duties

  • Supervise multiple departments to ensure smooth hotel operations
