The role of Executive Meeting Manager at Aimbridge Hospitality's Chattanooga extended-stay hotel involves proactive prospecting, facilitating, and closing group and catering business opportunities as well as overseeing event execution within the hotel. This property is tailored for business travelers offering two-bedroom suites with fully-equipped kitchens, complimentary internet access, an indoor pool, and 4,600 square feet of meeting space, making it ideal for guest comfort and business needs alike. This position demands a high level of strategic sales management and operational expertise to ensure that the hotel achieves its sales and revenue goals, including managing multiple tasks related to event coordination and client relationship management.

The Executive Meeting Manager must be skilled in negotiating contracts and managing yield to optimize revenue. They are expected to have a thorough understanding of hotel operations, market trends, and competitive analysis to maximize the hotel's financial performance. Essential job duties include responding promptly to leads and requests for proposals, conducting site inspections, maintaining relationships through community and business networking, and coordinating all event-related activities in close communication with hotel departments. The manager must possess excellent communication skills, be independent, and have superior organizational abilities. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of experience as a sales manager, catering sales manager, or sales coordinator
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • knowledge of hotel operations and market
  • capability to negotiate and influence clients and managers
  • strong organizational skills
  • availability to work overtime as necessary
  • willing to attend community and networking events

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year experience as a sales manager, catering sales manager, or sales coordinator
  • professional selling skills including opening, probing, supporting, and closing
  • experience in internet research and database mining
  • developed verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and influence
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge
  • ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • strong organization and presentation skills
  • valid driver’s license
  • demonstrated vertical flexibility, analytical approach, genuine style, and strategic proactivity
  • problem-solving, analysis, decision-making, negotiation, and contract interpretation skills
  • ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and group situations
  • knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competing hotels within the market

Job Duties

  • Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals
  • monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment
  • adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality's established regulations, company standards, sales standards and sales metrics
  • develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations and policies
  • follow proper event management procedures including BEO creation, F&B forecasting, resume communication, and room block management
  • accurately produce and review all catering contracts and banquet/catering event orders
  • listen and respond to customer needs
  • prospect for new business using creative and innovative methods
  • weigh the value of each business piece against hotel objectives at daily RevMax meetings
  • negotiate room rates and function space commitments using yield management techniques
  • utilize Revenue Management resources for informed decision-making
  • analyze trends relevant to pricing, occupancy, and revenue flow
  • understand competitor sales strategies and capitalize on hotel strengths
  • seek process improvement and enhance sales systems
  • respond to all leads and RFPs within 24 hours
  • maintain accurate and timely internal hotel communication
  • conduct site inspections, local sales calls, and attend trade shows and client events
  • promote the hotel through community and business networking
  • maintain strong visibility in the local community and industry organizations
  • attend required meetings and functions
  • perform additional duties as assigned by General Manager or Director of Sales
