Job Description

The YMCA is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the fabric of communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a charitable entity, the YMCA operates with a strong commitment to fostering inclusion, support, and growth for individuals and families across diverse populations. The organization is known for creating welcoming environments where all members of the community can belong and thrive. It embraces core values such as genuineness, hopefulness, nurturing, and determination. These values translate into an atmosphere where every person is valued for their individuality and potential, supported in their journey of personal development, and encouraged to become a catalyst for positive change within the community. The YMCA’s mission is brought to life daily through intentional programs and initiatives that address local needs while upholding an unwavering commitment to building stronger communities.

This role supports the YMCA’s mission by ensuring client satisfaction regarding the rental of its facilities. As a facility rental support position, the individual plays a pivotal role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall positive experience of groups utilizing the YMCA’s spaces. The position involves adhering strictly to policies and procedures that ensure the protection of youth and other clients, including comprehensive risk management measures and mandated abuse reporting. The employee is tasked with setting up and cleaning rental areas, enforcing safety rules to prevent accidents, and assisting staff during any emergency situations. The emphasis on safety, client service, and operational efficiency makes this a crucial function within the YMCA’s broader effort to serve its community responsibly and effectively.

Working at the YMCA means embracing an organizational culture centered on inclusivity, authenticity, hope, nurture, and determination. This environment fosters a sense of belonging and personal growth for staff and clients alike. The role requires consistent application of policies related to youth protection, such as completing required abuse risk management training and following mandated reporting guidelines. Being responsive and prepared to handle emergencies by understanding protocols and emergency equipment locations is essential. The position also demands physical capability to perform duties like lifting and moving objects and maintaining attentiveness despite environmental noise.

In summary, this position provides valuable support to the YMCA’s facility rental operations while upholding the organization’s core mission of community strengthening. It is a role best suited for individuals who are conscientious about safety, responsive to client needs, and committed to the YMCA’s culture and values. Employment in this role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected nonprofit organization that makes a lasting impact on individuals and communities.
