Job Description
Talkiatry is a clinician-led, virtual psychiatry practice committed to reshaping the delivery of mental health care through a unique blend of the structure found in hospital practices and the clinical autonomy characteristic of private practices. Founded in 2020 by Dr. Georgia Gaveras, a triple board-certified psychiatrist, and Robert Krayn, a patient advocate with deep insight into access barriers in mental health, Talkiatry has grown into a thriving outpatient psychiatric provider dedicated to supporting both clinicians and patients across the United States. Operating fully remotely, Talkiatry harnesses the power of technology to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and quality of care for lower to moderate acuity psychiatric conditions.
This role at Talkiatry is specifically designed for experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) seeking predictability and autonomy in their professional lives. As a PMHNP at Talkiatry, you will enjoy the benefits of W-2 employment with a compensation package that offers base salary plus productivity incentives, targeting total annual earnings between $180,000 and $215,000. The practice supports both full-time and part-time schedules, allowing providers to tailor their professional commitments around their personal lives while maintaining clinical excellence.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will take place in a 100% remote, outpatient telepsychiatry model focused on providing comprehensive psychiatric care. You will manage a patient panel comprising individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and PTSD, among other moderate acuity diagnoses. Standard session lengths are established to ensure quality interactions, including 60-minute initial intake evaluations and 30-minute follow-up appointments. Notably, there is no requirement for inpatient, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization, or crisis coverage, enabling you to concentrate on meaningful patient care without the typical operational pressures faced in hospital settings.
Clinicians at Talkiatry benefit from a robust integrated care model featuring an in-house referral network of psychiatrists and therapists. This network enhances collaborative care and ensures patients receive holistic treatment aligned with their clinical needs. Comprehensive operational support is in place to relieve administrative burdens, including scheduling, billing, intake coordination, and licensing support. This infrastructure allows clinicians to dedicate their time and expertise to patient care rather than operational logistics.
Talkiatry places a high value on clinical autonomy and flexibility. Practitioners have full control over their work schedules, weekly availability, and session structures within established clinical standards. The patient population is thoughtfully balanced according to individual preferences and criteria to optimize provider satisfaction and patient outcomes. Clinicians are encouraged to exercise sound clinical judgment without the pressure to shorten visit times or increase patient volume artificially, fostering a supportive environment for evidence-based practice and professional growth.
In addition to a competitive salary, distinct benefits include occurrence-based malpractice coverage fully paid by the employer, employer-covered health, dental, and vision insurance premiums, a 401(k) plan with immediate eligibility and employer matching, paid time off including vacation, sick days, and holidays, CME reimbursement and protected CME days, licensing support with upfront cost coverage, and a technology package to facilitate efficient telepsychiatry practice. Talkiatry promotes a diverse and inclusive work culture with over 800 psychiatrists and PMHNPs and 300 therapists serving patients in 32 languages across a collaborative and team-based care model.
This is an exceptional opportunity for licensed, board-certified PMHNPs eager to embrace a flexible and rewarding telemedicine career. The emphasis on clinical excellence, autonomy, and comprehensive support creates an enriching professional experience enabling you to focus on what you do best: delivering compassionate, high-quality mental health care from wherever you choose to practice.
