Job Description

Talkiatry is a pioneering virtual psychiatry practice founded in 2020 by Dr. Georgia Gaveras, a triple board-certified psychiatrist, and Robert Krayn, a patient advocate who understands the challenges of accessing quality mental health care. As a clinician-led organization, Talkiatry combines the stability of a hospital practice with the clinical autonomy often associated with private practice. The company operates entirely online, providing outpatient psychiatric care across various states and languages, supported by a broad network of over 800 psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) and more than 300 therapists. This expansive, multi-lingual clinical community works collaboratively to expand access to evidence-based psychiatric services in a remote setting.

The role of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Talkiatry is uniquely designed for experienced clinicians who seek a balanced and flexible work environment without sacrificing professional autonomy or comprehensive support. The position offers predictable, W-2 employment with competitive compensation ranging between $180,000 and $215,000 annually, combining base salary with monthly productivity incentives. The position can be full-time or part-time and includes extensive benefits such as employer-paid malpractice insurance, full coverage for health, dental, and vision premiums, 401(k) with employer matching, paid time off, dedicated CME days, and ample licensing support.

PMHNPs at Talkiatry will enjoy a 100% remote outpatient psychiatric practice, focusing on treating lower to moderate acuity patient populations. Common diagnoses include anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and PTSD. The workday is structured around standard session lengths—60-minute intake assessments and 30-minute follow-up appointments—allowing clinicians to manage their schedules with clinical autonomy and without the pressure to shorten visits or increase patient volumes artificially. There is no involvement with inpatient care, intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization, or crisis coverage, which enables PMHNPs to focus wholly on outpatient care within an integrated care model. Talkiatry provides full operational support including scheduling, billing, intake coordination, and licensing, ensuring clinicians can focus on patient care.

Flexibility is a cornerstone of this role; PMHNPs maintain control over their schedules, session structures within clinical standards, and patient populations aligned with individual expertise and preferences. The role demands proficiency in telepsychiatry and electronic medical records management, supporting high-quality psychiatric care. Talkiatry fosters a culture of continuous clinical development and evidence-based practice within a collaborative, team-based environment embracing diversity and inclusion. The company participates in E-Verify and is committed to equal opportunity employment and reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals.

This position is ideal for seasoned PMHNPs who value professional independence, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to shape their practice within a forward-thinking virtual psychiatry organization. Talkiatry's approach champions mental health clinicians by providing a stable, supportive remote work environment that prioritizes clinician wellness as much as patient care.
