Job Description
Talkiatry is a clinician-led, virtual psychiatry practice that uniquely merges the stability and reliability of a hospital practice with the clinical autonomy and flexibility traditionally found in private practice. Founded in 2020 by Dr. Georgia Gaveras, a triple board-certified psychiatrist, and Robert Krayn, a patient advocate who personally faced barriers in accessing mental health care, Talkiatry has quickly grown into a trusted name in telepsychiatry. Serving a vast network of more than 800 psychiatrists and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) along with over 300 therapists, Talkiatry offers services in over 32 languages and fosters a culture of collaborative, team-based care designed to improve access and quality of outpatient mental health services. The company embraces a fully remote working model and is committed to supporting clinicians with comprehensive operational support, including scheduling, billing, intake coordination, and licensing to minimize administrative burdens so that providers can focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
This particular role targets experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners who desire a balanced work life featuring predictable compensation and the flexibility to customize their clinical practice. Talkiatry offers W-2 employment with a total annual on-target earning potential ranging from $180,000 to $215,000, which includes a base salary supplemented by productivity incentives, guaranteed during the initial onboarding ramp-up period. The position is ideal for professionals seeking full-time or part-time engagement in an outpatient care setting that is 100% remote, allowing them to treat lower to moderate acuity populations such as patients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and PTSD. Providers will conduct standard session lengths, including 60-minute initial intakes and 30-minute follow-up appointments, without the responsibilities of inpatient care, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization, or crisis coverage.
Talkiatry stands out by granting clinicians the freedom to control their schedules, decide on session structures within evidence-based clinical standards, and select patient populations aligned with their expertise and preferences. This clinical autonomy is coupled with the assurance that providers will not face pressure to shorten visits or increase patient volume, promoting thoughtful and comprehensive psychiatric care. The practice uses an integrated care model featuring an in-house referral network of psychiatrists and therapists, enhancing holistic patient management.
In addition to a supportive work environment, Talkiatry provides a robust benefits package including employer-paid malpractice insurance that is occurrence-based and 100% covered, employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance potentially covering up to 100% of premiums, and a 401(k) plan with immediate eligibility and employer matching contributions. Other benefits include paid time off, sick leave, 11 paid holidays, CME reimbursement and dedicated CME days, licensing support with upfront coverage of associated costs, and a technology package to facilitate seamless telepsychiatry practice. Overall, this position offers an exceptional opportunity for PMHNPs seeking a highly autonomous role backed by a progressive employer prioritizing work-life balance, clinical excellence, and financial stability.
