The Registered Nurse Manager serves as a pivotal clinical leader within one of the nursing units, overseeing daily operations and ensuring that high standards of resident care are consistently met. This role requires a balance of strong leadership, clinical expertise, and compassionate communication, with a commitment to supporting team development and regulatory compliance. The nurse manager is responsible for the coordination of nursing services, personalization of care plans, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to foster excellent resident outcomes. Daily responsibilities include monitoring residents’ conditions, conducting rounds to support well-being, performing pre-admission assessments, and maintaining rigorous clinical documentation standards.

Job Requirements

  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility
  • 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience with direct report responsibilities
  • Knowledge of health department regulations, PPS, MDS, and OBRA requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows, and healthcare-related software systems
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • comfortable with frequent sitting, standing, and bending
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders

Job Qualifications

  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility
  • 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience with direct report responsibilities
  • Knowledge of health department regulations, PPS, MDS, and OBRA requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows, and healthcare-related software systems

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the nursing unit
  • Monitor resident conditions, identify changes in status, and ensure timely intervention and communication
  • Conduct daily rounds to support quality care and resident well-being
  • Complete pre-admission assessments and help ensure appropriate resident placement
  • Coordinate and oversee individualized care planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Lead or participate in care conferences and communicate effectively with residents and families
  • Support compliance with PPS, MDS, and other regulatory and company standards
