Job Description
The Center for Excellence in Transformative Teaching & Learning (CETTL) is a dynamic and collaborative entity dedicated to enhancing educational experiences and outcomes within higher education. CETTL works closely with various campus units and individuals to develop and provide a broad array of programs, services, and resources aimed at supporting faculty and staff in fostering student learning and success. The center is composed of four major programs: the Educators' Leadership Academy (ELA), the 21st Century Pedagogy Institute, the Student Transformative Learning Record (STLR), and the annual Transformative Learning Conference. Through these initiatives, CETTL promotes professional growth, innovative teaching strategies, and transformative learning practices across regional academic institutions.
The Educators' Leadership Academy (ELA), a core segment of CETTL, offers workshop-style professional development opportunities tailored for faculty and staff from diverse academic environments. The ELA focuses on skill-building in areas such as effective conflict engagement, strategic planning and budgeting, curriculum development, and cultural competency. The academy features four primary academies: Academic Leadership Fellows Academy, Higher Education Department Chair Academy, Transformative Leadership Academy, and Administrative Support Professionals Academy, each designed to equip participants with leadership capabilities vital for educational excellence. The ELA also plays a key role in CETTL's event management and programmatic support.
This student clerical position is a regular, part-time role primarily assigned to support the operations and activities of the Educators' Leadership Academy. The position involves a variety of event coordination and customer service duties, including event promotion, logistical setup, and the use of Microsoft Office applications. The student will work directly with the Director of the Educators' Leadership Academy to help achieve program goals. The average commitment is approximately 10 hours per week, typically during business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but some evening and weekend work will be required with advance notice. This role is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in event planning, academic program support, and customer service within a higher education context.
Candidates for this position will develop practical skills in event logistics, communication, and technology, while contributing to meaningful educational initiatives. The role demands a proactive, service-oriented mindset and the flexibility to assist with varied tasks that support faculty development and transformative learning events. By joining CETTL, students become part of a vibrant educational community dedicated to continuous improvement and leadership in teaching and learning practices.
