The RN Supervisor role at Genesis Healthcare is a weekend leadership position working the night shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This role offers an exciting opportunity for nursing professionals who want to make an immediate impact by guiding clinical operations on the assigned shifts. As a key member of the nursing leadership team, the RN Supervisor supports the Director of Nursing in ensuring efficient and effective care delivery while maintaining excellent clinical outcomes. The position requires leading and mentoring nursing staff, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies, practice standards, and state regulations. Emphasizing teamwork and clinical excellence, the RN Supervisor helps maintain adequate staffing levels to provide safe 24/7 care with minimal overtime and reliance on agency personnel. Additional responsibilities include involvement in staff recruitment, orientation, and making recommendations concerning employee promotions, transfers, and terminations. Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse licensure by state board of nursing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Availability to work 7:00pm to 7:00am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to mentor and support nursing staff
- Knowledge of nursing standards and healthcare regulations
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college, or university
- Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing
- BSN preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience in clinical nursing operations and staff supervision
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and nursing best practices
Job Duties
- Lead, guide and direct the clinical operations of the nursing units on assigned shift including ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations
- Facilitate the implementation of the care delivery model and processes, mentoring staff, along with coordination and communication with other departments
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate nursing staff to provide safe, 24/7 nursing care with an emphasis on limiting use of overtime and agency personnel
- Participate in staff recruitment, new hire orientation and make recommendations for employee promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Support the Director of Nursing with achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient, family, and employee satisfaction
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards through ongoing evaluation and staff training
- Manage shift operations and resolve clinical issues promptly to maintain efficient workflow
