Job Description
Cook Children's Health Care System is a leading pediatric health care provider based in Fort Worth, Texas. Established over 105 years ago, Cook Children’s combines advanced medical technology, innovative research, and compassionate care to improve the lives of children throughout Texas and the surrounding regions. As a not-for-profit organization, Cook Children's is dedicated to fulfilling its mission of delivering exceptional health care services to every child, every day. With a comprehensive network that includes two medical centers, nearly 100 clinical locations, a large physician network, surgery centers, a home health company, and several health service programs, Cook Children’s serves as a cornerstone of pediatric medicine. It is recognized as Forbes' Number 1 Best Large U.S. Employer in Health Care, emphasizing its commitment to fostering a supportive work environment characterized by professional growth, inclusivity, and innovation. The organization is an equal opportunity employer, valuing diversity and advocating equal opportunity for all employees regardless of minority status, gender, disability, or veteran status.
The Registered Nurse (RN) Manager, Clinic role at Cook Children’s Health Care System focuses on both management and clinical expertise in a specialty clinic setting. This position operates within the Developmental Pediatrics Department located at the Dodson Medical Office Building in Fort Worth, Texas. The role is classified as a full-time staff position requiring 40 hours per week of commitment, scheduled as an 8-hour first shift. Starting on June 29, 2026, the Clinical Manager will be responsible for full oversight of nursing practice, personnel management, staff development, as well as fostering strong physician relationships within the clinic. The RN Manager is expected to articulate and execute a compelling departmental vision, aligning resources strategically and ensuring excellent quality care standards are consistently met across a high-volume specialty clinic environment. This leadership role involves accountability for departmental finances, strategic resource allocation, and upholding physician satisfaction goals. Despite the strong management focus, maintaining clinical proficiency is paramount so the manager can provide direct support to the nursing team on the floor as necessary. This role emphasizes fostering teamwork, unit pride, and a positive culture among staff. Preferred candidates will have experience with developmental disabilities or behavioral health, reflecting the specialized patient population served by this department. The organization values candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or, under grandfather provisions, an Associate’s degree, along with progressive nursing leadership experience. Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse licenses, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and other certifications as required are mandated for this position. Cook Children’s offers a dynamic environment for nurses aiming to advance their leadership skills while maintaining clinical excellence within a well-respected health care system dedicated to pediatric care.
