Job Description
Advocate Health is one of the largest nonprofit, integrated health systems in the United States, formed by the merger of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. The organization delivers comprehensive healthcare services across multiple states under well-recognized names such as Advocate Health Care in Illinois, Atrium Health in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama, and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin. With its headquarters based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Advocate Health proudly serves nearly six million patients and participates actively in cutting-edge clinical trials and research initiatives. The Wake Forest University School of Medicine functions as the academic hub of Advocate Health, fostering continuous medical education and research excellence.
Advocate Health is nationally acclaimed for its expertise in numerous medical specialties including cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, rehabilitation, organ transplants, burn treatments, and musculoskeletal programs. The organization runs one of the largest graduate medical education programs in the nation, educating more than 2,000 residents and fellows across over 200 specialized programs. Employing approximately 155,000 teammates across 69 hospitals and more than 1,000 care locations, Advocate Health is committed to delivering equitable, high-quality care while contributing over $6 billion annually in community benefits.
The role available is for a Part-Time PRN Float Nurse position within the Wake Forest Health Network located at the Winston Salem Country Club Med Plaza under the Executive Health Concierge Care department. This role entails floating between two practices within the same building, providing flexible nursing support based on patient care needs. Compensation for this position ranges from $35.50 to $53.25 per hour, reflective of the candidate’s clinical experience and skills.
This nursing position is designed for professionals who enjoy a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment. The nurse will engage actively in unit councils, professional governance, and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing care processes and ensuring evidence-based nursing practices. The job requires the application of the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, and implement nursing interventions while continuously evaluating outcomes to improve patient care.
The nurse will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, mobilize resources effectively, and ensure that safety remains a top priority within the care environment. Responsibilities include medication administration, treatments, therapy management, and maintaining accurate and timely electronic health record documentation. The position demands strong communication and conflict resolution skills, fostering a supportive team atmosphere and ensuring appropriate delegation when necessary.
Candidates should expect to demonstrate clinical judgment and critical thinking skills, manage time efficiently, and prioritize effectively in a demanding setting. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, lifting, and maneuvering of equipment, with the ability to safely handle patients and supplies. Candidates will adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and uphold professional standards at all times. This role offers opportunities for professional development, ongoing education, and specialty certification maintenance, supporting the nurse’s career growth within a nationally recognized healthcare system.
