Wellstar Health System is a leading healthcare organization in Georgia committed to enhancing the health and well-being of every individual it serves. Known for its compassionate care, innovative practices, and a strong emphasis on patient-centered services, Wellstar has established itself as a trusted name in the healthcare industry. The system includes several hospitals and medical centers, including Wellstar Cobb Hospital, a facility recognized for its comprehensive medical services, dedicated teams, and supportive campus environment. Wellstar's mission is centered around serving with compassion, pursuing excellence, and honoring the voice of every patient, fostering a culture where healthcare professionals can thrive and make a significant difference in people's lives. This commitment to high standards and compassionate care has helped Wellstar become a beacon of excellence in health services, driven by a diverse and skilled workforce.

The role of the Registered Nurse (RN) at Wellstar Cobb Hospital is a critical position within the clinical care framework. This RN PRN position requires practitioners who are not only highly experienced but also dedicated to delivering individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care. The schedule for this role includes day shifts with a required minimum of three shifts per month, catering to the needs of a dynamic healthcare environment. Candidates applying for this position should have a minimum of 10 years of current direct patient care experience in nursing, ensuring that they bring a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to the team.

As an RN Clinical Nurse at Wellstar Cobb Hospital, you will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that collaborates closely to support patients, families, and significant others throughout their care journey. Your practice will be underpinned by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model and informed by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model along with 5-Star Nursing standards and evidence-based practice and research. This means that your clinical decisions and care strategies will be guided by the latest nursing evidence, professional competencies, and ethical standards in nursing practice.

This position requires nurses to be licensed, knowledgeable, and fully compliant with the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association's Code of Ethics Standards. The RN's role is not only to deliver exceptional nursing care but also to advocate for patients’ voices, uphold hospital policies, and contribute to the overarching service excellence goals of the organization.

The RN Clinical Nurse is expected to perform a broad range of responsibilities including executing the nursing process which encompasses assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient care plans. Emphasis is placed on relationship-based, culturally competent care that respects population-specific characteristics such as age, gender, and disease profiles. Effective communication with patients and their families is prioritized to ensure that care plans remain aligned with patient goals and preferences.

Teamwork and collaboration are essential components of this role. You will coordinate care delivery, maintain accurate documentation, and foster an inclusive and respectful clinical environment. You will also be actively involved in performance improvement initiatives, shared governance, and research activities that promote continuous enhancement of patient care quality and safety.

Professional development is strongly supported by Wellstar, and as an RN, you will be encouraged to engage in ongoing competency assessments, continuing education, and to serve as a preceptor or mentor to other nursing staff and students. This not only ensures a robust and qualified workforce but also contributes to a healthy and supportive workplace culture.

The RN at Wellstar Cobb Hospital also plays a role in evidence-based practice and research efforts, engaging in activities that support nursing research, clinical protocol development, and quality improvement projects. Compliance with all healthcare regulations, legal standards, and accreditation requirements is mandatory to maintain the highest standards of care.

Finally, this role demands proactive planning for patient care across the continuum, efficient use of resources, and a commitment to uphold Wellstar Health System policies and values at all times. This is a fulfilling career opportunity for experienced nursing professionals who seek to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in a supportive and excellence-driven environment.
