Job Description
Mayo Clinic is a globally renowned nonprofit medical practice and research group committed to providing exceptional patient care and advanced medical research. Recognized for its excellence in numerous specialties, Mayo Clinic holds the distinction of being top-ranked in more specialties than any other care provider according to U.S. News & World Report. With an emphasis on putting the needs of the patient first, the organization fosters a compassionate and innovative environment. It invests heavily not only in patient care but also in its employees by offering competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth. Mayo Clinic operates major campuses across the United States in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; and Rochester, Minnesota, alongside extensive Mayo Clinic Health System locations throughout Midwestern communities and select international sites. Each location promotes a supportive atmosphere where employees can thrive personally and professionally.
This particular role is for a registered nurse (RN) working primarily in the Outpatient Dialysis areas, with a home site at Eisenberg but requiring flexibility to float to multiple dialysis satellite locations within the Mayo Clinic Health System. The RN in this position will be responsible for coordinating comprehensive nursing care, which includes delivering direct patient care, educating patients and families, and ensuring smooth transitions of care. The nurse supports professional nursing practice across various care settings and throughout the care continuum to meet patient and family needs effectively. Under the framework of the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, the RN plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates nursing care activities for assigned patients. This role includes leadership responsibilities such as serving as a preceptor, participating in formal and informal leadership roles, and contributing to quality improvement efforts. The RN also delegates patient care duties to other team members based on skill level, patient acuity, and resource availability.
Candidates for this role will benefit from the organization’s innovative nursing compensation model that rewards experience, education, and dedication. The pay range for this position is $39.64 to $62.64 per hour. Mayo Clinic further supports nurse employees with a competitive tuition reimbursement program to facilitate continuing education and career advancement. This role is part-time with supplemental hours and involves 12-hour shifts covering all days of the week including weekends with a schedule of every other Friday/Saturday. The position requires the ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
Mayo Clinic values diversity, equity, and inclusion and provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status, or disability. The organization also participates in E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Recruitment and placement support is available from Nursing Placement Coordinators, especially benefitting new graduate nurses through specialized residency programs designed to ensure a strong foundation for ongoing nursing careers within Mayo Clinic.
