Job Description

MetroWest Medical Center is a distinguished healthcare facility serving the community since its inception as the first public medical facility in Framingham in 1893. The center is a collaborative network comprising Framingham Union Hospital and Leonard Morse Hospital, a specialized behavioral health center dedicated to mental health care. Over the years, MetroWest Medical Center has earned a reputation for excellence, demonstrated by recognitions such as the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval and accolades from Healthgrades for its cardiac care. The facility offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including 24-hour emergency care, advanced cardiac and cancer treatments, and specialized maternity care, underscoring its commitment to comprehensive patient-centered care.

The role available is a pivotal leadership position supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in charge of all nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital organization. This position holds significant responsibility, including leadership and operational oversight at the unit level while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care. This role entails managing and coordinating nursing practices, evaluating clinical staff competency, and overseeing resource management pertaining to patient care. The position demands 24/7 accountability for the assigned areas and serves as an essential advocate for the professional discipline of nursing, promoting exemplary standards and operational excellence.

Ideal candidates will possess an active and current registered nurse license in their state of residence or practice and demonstrate highly effective interpersonal and communication skills. Proven leadership ability within a hospital operational environment is critical, along with the capability to serve as a role model and advocate for nursing professionalism. The role also involves supporting the CNO, enabling the hospital to meet and exceed quality care and operational goals. The position offers a competitive wage range of $42.30 to $84.87 per hour, with individual compensation reflective of the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

MetroWest Medical Center prioritizes the growth, development, and wellness of its employees by offering a comprehensive benefits package. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match; generous paid time off; career development and continuing education opportunities; health savings accounts; flexible spending accounts; an employee assistance program; employee discount programs; and voluntary benefits such as pet insurance, legal insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, long-term care, elder and childcare, and auto and home insurance. Eligibility for benefits varies based on location and employment status, highlighting the center’s commitment to tailored employee support.

Joining MetroWest Medical Center means becoming part of a team dedicated to advancing healthcare quality and community wellness. The center’s dynamic environment offers professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patients, caregivers, and the broader community. The nursing leadership role is ideal for an innovative, results-driven leader who aspires to contribute to exceptional patient outcomes and hospital success.
