Job Description

MetroWest Medical Center is a longstanding healthcare institution serving the community since 1893, making it the first public medical facility in Framingham. It comprises Framingham Union Hospital and Leonard Morse Hospital, the latter being a behavioral health specialty center dedicated to the mental health of the community in Natick. The center offers comprehensive healthcare services for individuals and families—including 24-hour emergency care, advanced cardiac and cancer treatments, and specialized maternity care with a Special Care Level IIB nursery for high-risk pregnancies. MetroWest Medical Center has earned a Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission, underscoring its commitment to maintaining high performance standards and providing safe, effective patient care. Additionally, its cardiac team was recognized as one of America’s 100 best hospitals for Coronary Intervention and ranked among the top 5 percent nationally for coronary interventional procedures in 2023. This recognition reflects the institution’s dedication to excellence and innovative healthcare delivery.

The role available at MetroWest Medical Center is for a Nursing leadership position reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). This role provides essential leadership and support in managing nursing and specified patient care services within the hospital setting. The individual will play a pivotal part in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices at the unit level, ensuring that nursing care is delivered consistently with the highest quality standards. This leadership position holds 24/7 responsibility for the assigned areas and works closely with the CNO to maintain safe, competent, and appropriate nursing care delivery. The position supports clinical staff competency, facilitates resource management related to patient care, and serves as a role model and advocate for professional nursing practice.

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced nurse leader with a proven track record in hospital management or as a charge nurse, exhibiting strong interpersonal and communication abilities, leadership acumen, and operational knowledge of hospital environments. A current, active registered nurse license in the relevant state is mandatory. The role demands a results-driven individual ready to make a meaningful impact on patients, caregivers, and the local community, driving operational success and superior patient outcomes. Employment at MetroWest Medical Center offers a competitive salary range from $42.30 to $84.87 per hour, reflecting the individual's qualifications and experience.

MetroWest Medical Center places high value on its professional workforce, offering comprehensive benefits that support employees’ health and well-being, career development, and work-life balance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match, generous paid time off, career growth opportunities, flexible spending accounts, and employee assistance programs. The center also offers voluntary benefits such as pet insurance, legal insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, and more. Candidates joining MetroWest Medical Center become part of a caring and forward-thinking community health provider dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
