Job Description

MetroWest Medical Center is a reputable healthcare institution that has been serving the community since its inception in 1893, opening its doors as the first public medical facility in Framingham. The medical center is composed of Framingham Union Hospital and Leonard Morse Hospital, the latter being a specialized behavioral health facility located in Natick, focused on addressing the mental health needs of the community. Framingham Union Hospital offers an extensive range of healthcare services catered to individuals and families alike, including 24-hour emergency care, cutting-edge cardiac care, advanced cancer treatments, and comprehensive maternity care, further strengthened by their Special Care Level IIB nursery and high-risk pregnancy care services. The hospital's commitment to excellence and patient safety are demonstrated through recognitions such as the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval and accolades from Healthgrades, including being named among America's 100 Best Hospitals for Coronary Intervention and ranking in the top 5% nationwide for coronary interventional procedures in 2023. MetroWest Medical Center prides itself on fostering an environment where healthcare professionals can develop their careers while contributing significantly to improving community health outcomes.

The role of Nursing Manager within MetroWest Medical Center is a pivotal leadership position responsible for supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in overseeing nursing and other designated patient care services throughout the hospital. This full-time managerial role demands a dynamic leader who can assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing practices on a unit level, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and appropriate patient care. The Nursing Manager assumes 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas, including clinical staff competency and resource management tied to patient care. A vital part of this role includes serving as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing, using proven leadership abilities and hospital operational expertise to inspire teams and maintain performance standards. This position also requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and uphold MetroWest Medical Center’s commitment to patient-centered healthcare. Compensation for this role ranges from $42.30 to $84.87 per hour, with wages determined based on individual qualifications, experience, and other factors. Candidates can expect to be part of a supportive organization that values professional growth, operational excellence, and community impact in the healthcare domain.
