Job Description

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a prominent 253-bed hospital located in the rapidly expanding area of San Antonio, Texas. Serving as a vital healthcare institution, CSRH-WH offers a broad range of specialized medical services that include orthopedic and surgical care with advanced spine surgery, intensive care, and complex neurology focused on treating stroke and other neurovascular conditions. The hospital also provides comprehensive cardiovascular care ranging from diagnostic evaluations to open heart surgery, supported by facilities like a vascular lab and a sleep center. Additional noteworthy services at the hospital include women’s health services, a newborn nursery, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound care, rehabilitation programs, and emergency services. The campus is equipped with an Outpatient Imaging Center, an Ambulatory Surgery Center, and four medical plazas that house various specialty clinics, including the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and Family Health Center. The available role is for a competent Nurse who will operate independently within this dynamic clinical environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate acute awareness of all relevant clinical factors and is expected to provide both routine and complex nursing care. This role demands the ability to manage long-range patient care goals and to effectively cope with the contingencies encountered in clinical nursing. The Nurse will also play an integral role in clinical team management through appropriate delegation and assignment of tasks to other care providers, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care operations. This position requires a nurse who is fully capable of adhering to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and who can comprehensively apply the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for assigned patients. The role also emphasizes addressing the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families in line with the nurse’s level of practice. Furthermore, the nurse will be responsible for administering prescribed medications and treatments in compliance with established protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment efficacy, and meticulously documenting patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided. Additionally, the nurse is expected to assess patient learning needs and offer education to patients, family members, or caregivers, identifying potential challenges and resource requirements. Job Requirements

  • bachelor of science degree in nursing preferred
  • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
  • bls required
  • rn license in state of employment or compact
  • ability to work per diem as needed
  • willingness to relocate
