Job Description

Baylor Scott & White Health is a leading, not-for-profit healthcare system based in Texas, dedicated to promoting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities across the region. As the largest healthcare system of its kind in Texas, Baylor Scott & White emphasizes a patient-centered approach and fosters a culture of compassion, innovation, and continuous improvement. The organization is grounded in a set of core values that resonate throughout its operations, services, and interactions: faithful service characterized by integrity and a joyful heart, a commitment to excellence and never settling for less, teamwork and mutual support among employees and those they serve, and making a significant impact through initiative and delivering exceptional experiences. These guiding principles help ensure that every employee contributes positively to the mission of enhancing health outcomes and supporting community health needs.

In accordance with these values, Baylor Scott & White is currently seeking a dedicated RN Float to join their diverse team of healthcare professionals. This role is vital within the healthcare system as the nurse will coordinate patient care by applying a robust nursing model and ensuring that the varied needs of patients and their families are met thoughtfully and effectively. The RN Float will be responsible for assessing patients, devising individualized care plans, evaluating patient responses to care, and adjusting interventions accordingly to promote the best possible health outcomes. A key aspect of this role involves collaborating with team members by delegating tasks based on the clinical guidelines, individual patient conditions, and the capabilities of fellow healthcare providers to maximize the quality and safety of patient care.

Additionally, the RN Float position requires a commitment to creating a supportive, safe, and inclusive environment that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff. The nurse will also engage in continuous education efforts with patients, families, community members, and the healthcare team, facilitating learning and fostering trust. This professional role demands a detailed knowledge of nursing and patient care standards, a firm understanding of nursing laws and regulations, and the ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently within a dynamic healthcare environment. Embracing diversity in all its forms, the RN Float is tasked with tailoring care plans to accommodate unique patient perspectives and needs, further enhancing personalized care delivery.

Beyond the patient care duties, the RN Float is encouraged to continually seek professional development opportunities and contribute to community service, reinforcing Baylor Scott & White Health’s commitment to growth and service beyond the clinical setting. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees’ well-being throughout their careers, including immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits, a 401(k) savings plan with a dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off accruing from the first day of employment. These benefits may vary based on position type and level, but they underscore the organization's commitment to helping employees live well at every stage of their professional and personal journeys.
