The Family Care Center within Cape Fear Valley Medical Center focuses specifically on women's health services including postpartum, antepartum, and gynecological surgical care. The Family Care Center, also known as The Women’s Pavilion, consists of 48 private rooms designed for post-partum recovery, antepartum care, and simple gynecological surgical patients. With an average of 400 monthly deliveries, this unit is a vital component of the Medical Center’s maternal and family health services.
The role of Registered Nurse (RN) within the Family Care Center is crucial in delivering excellent nursing care in alignment with hospital policies and patient care standards. This position involves planning and implementing professional nursing care tailored to individual patient needs. The RN acts as a primary caregiver and occasionally assumes charge nurse responsibilities, overseeing day-to-day unit operations and patient care management. The nurse will be responsible for accurate patient assessments, organizing and evaluating care plans, administering medications as prescribed by physicians, and responding adeptly to life-threatening situations.
The role demands collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare staff to ensure the highest quality of care based on outcome-oriented indicators. The RN supports patients in cultural and spiritual practices within medical regimen boundaries and actively participates in cost containment while ensuring accurate patient service charges. The Family Care Center supports low to high-risk vaginally delivered or cesarean section postpartum patients, undelivered antepartum patients, and simple gynecological surgical patients, with a focus on safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

Job Requirements
- Associates degree in nursing required
- current licensure in North Carolina as a registered nurse or compact state licensure
- 1-2 years of related clinical experience preferred
- maternal/newborn assessment

Job Qualifications
