HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is a 445-plus bed acute care hospital situated in the heart of central Houston, adjacent to the renowned Medical Center and Museum District. Job Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing diploma, associate degree or higher
  • RN licensure in state of Texas
  • American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Cardiovascular ICU experience required
  • Prefer knowledge of ECMO, balloon pumps, continual dialysis, and care of acute cardiovascular post-surgical patients

Job Duties

  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider
  • Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
  • Teaches patients, families, caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures
  • Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding
  • Teaches patients, families, caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes
  • Prepares patients and families for future self-management
  • Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes recovery
