Job Description

DaVita Inc. is a leading healthcare company specializing in kidney care services across the United States. Founded with the mission of improving the quality of life for people with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease, DaVita has grown into a nationally and internationally recognized healthcare provider known for delivering compassionate, high-quality dialysis and related care services. With a focus on innovation, patient-centered care, and community engagement, DaVita operates thousands of outpatient dialysis centers and contracts with hospitals to provide acute care nephrology services, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and life-sustaining treatment at every stage of their condition.

DaVita’s hospital-based acute care program seeks to employ a Registered Nurse (RN) whose primary responsibility is to deliver dialysis care in various hospital settings. This position is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring constant interaction with patients afflicted with end-stage renal disease and chronic kidney conditions in critical care units such as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Department (ED), and other acute care units. The RN will administer specialized dialysis therapies including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and apheresis.

This role is designed for nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about providing top-notch care to patients needing urgent dialysis treatments. The RN will work closely with hospital clinical teams and DaVita’s multidisciplinary clinical staff to monitor patient conditions, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure high-quality clinical outcomes. The position involves supervising patient care with assistance from Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), requiring excellent leadership and communication skills.

DaVita provides comprehensive training for this role, welcoming applicants without prior dialysis experience while offering paid training to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge. Nurses must be flexible as they will rotate between different hospital units and facilities, with schedules including regular shifts as well as on-call responsibilities during weekends and holidays. Given the unpredictable nature of acute care settings, daily schedules may change in response to patient care demands.

The hospital-based RN at DaVita plays a critical role in delivering life-sustaining treatment within a Joint Commission-accredited inpatient dialysis program. This high-impact role provides an opportunity to advance clinical expertise while contributing to a respected leader in kidney healthcare. DaVita emphasizes a workplace culture focused on inclusivity and belonging, striving to create a supportive “Village” environment for all its team members. The company complies with federal affirmative action policies and values diversity, welcoming candidates across all backgrounds without discrimination.

The compensation for this role is competitive and varies depending on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience. DaVita offers a total rewards package that includes healthcare coverage, a 401(k) match, paid time off with cash-out options, family support benefits, and additional perks such as pet insurance. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply to be part of a clinical leader in kidney care where they can make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients facing serious kidney conditions.
