The Clinical Dietitian II position at Health First plays a crucial role in supporting patient health through comprehensive nutrition care. The successful candidate will be deeply engaged in providing quality, no-harm patient care, customer delight, and stewardship of resources. This role involves managing all phases of nutrition care, including bedside nutrition assessment, nutrition diagnosis, interventions, and monitoring outcomes. The Clinical Dietitian II will conduct nutrition-focused physical assessments to diagnose malnutrition and implement tailored actions to modify nutrition-related behaviors and health conditions. They will provide education and counseling to patients, families, and healthcare teams, contributing to multi-disciplinary training and community outreach initiatives. The role also requires technical skills such as inserting feeding tubes and securing them appropriately. Furthermore, the Clinical Dietitian II is responsible for ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission and other relevant regulatory agencies while supporting continuous improvement efforts within the healthcare setting.

Eligible candidates are offered a hire-on bonus of up to 10,000 dollars. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree depending on graduation date
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential within 6 months of hire
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) credential within 8 months of hire
  • current Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • ability to work extended and flexible hours
  • excellent communication skills in English
  • proficient computing and electronic medical record skills

  • ability to work independently and in teams
  • maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor
  • ability to respond efficiently in emergency situations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree if graduated prior to Jan 1, 2024
  • Master's degree if graduated after Jan 1, 2024
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within six months of hire
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the State of Florida within eight months of hire
  • current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider card
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient computing skills including MS Office and electronic medical records
  • good organizational skills
  • initiative to work independently and in a team
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • ability to respond in stressful situations
  • ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate data
  • meet Clinical Dietitian Competency Assessment and skills within 90 days and annually
  • trained to place feeding tubes within 90 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Perform nutrition interventions based on nutrition diagnosis
  • recommend or make changes to patient nutrition care plans including enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • monitor and evaluate nutrition outcomes
  • assess for malnutrition through nutrition focused physical assessments
  • identify and implement actions to change nutrition-related behavior or health status
  • initiate referrals to interdisciplinary team members
  • educate patients, families, and healthcare teams on nutrition needs
  • provide multi-disciplinary in-services and training
  • conduct community events and support groups
  • insert nasogastric or nasoenteric feeding tubes
