Job Description

AdventHealth is a leading healthcare organization committed to extending the healing ministry of Christ by providing compassionate, whole-person care. Based in Tampa, Florida, AdventHealth is a faith-based community hospital that prioritizes not only the physical health of its patients but also their mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Established with a mission to uplift and heal individuals in body, mind, and spirit, AdventHealth fosters an inclusive environment where employees thrive professionally and grow spiritually. The organization values diversity and the unique experiences each team member brings, recognizing that working together creates a stronger, more effective healthcare team.

The registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) role at AdventHealth emphasizes the critical importance of nutrition in patient care. The position requires the assessment of nutritional status through physical evaluations, data collection via interviews, and comprehensive review of medical records. As part of the healthcare team, the RDN will identify nutrition risks, recognize signs of malnutrition, and address high-risk health behaviors. This role involves implementing nutrition interventions, ordering necessary treatments, providing patient education, counseling, and making referrals to other healthcare services. Additionally, the RDN may perform specialized clinical tasks such as placing feeding tubes and conducting indirect calorimetry studies to tailor patient nutrition plans.

The dietitian will play an essential role in monitoring and evaluating nutrition care plans to ensure patients meet their health goals and experience optimal recovery outcomes. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment that promotes evidence-based practice, cultural sensitivity, and health literacy in all patient interactions. The RDN will also contribute to the education and supervision of dietetic interns, technicians, and new staff while participating in ongoing research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

AdventHealth provides a full-time day shift opportunity at its Tampa facility, offering competitive pay ranging from $23.71 to $44.09 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. The organization is deeply committed to employee well-being, offering comprehensive benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Additional perks include paid time off, a 403-B retirement plan, fully paid parental leave for four weeks, career development programs, mental health support resources, and even pet benefits. These advantages contribute to a fulfilling work-life balance, making this role ideal for professionals passionate about nutrition and patient care while seeking growth and stability in their careers.

As an equal opportunity employer, AdventHealth complies fully with federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws, fostering a respectful workplace where all individuals are treated fairly. This role is not just a career but a chance to make a meaningful impact on patients’ lives within a purpose-driven organization that values teamwork, diversity, and integrity.
