Job Description
Scoot Education is a dedicated staffing partner committed to creating exceptional experiences in education by connecting qualified educators with meaningful roles that support student success. Specializing in placing professionals across a variety of school settings—including public, charter, private, independent, and faith-based institutions—Scoot Education focuses on providing the right match to meet the diverse needs of students and schools. With a mission centered on support both inside and outside the classroom, the company offers roles such as substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and other student-support positions tailored to each candidate's skills, certifications, and interests.
Scoot Education offers a unique, supportive work environment where employees benefit from personalized guidance through their dedicated Education Consultant. This consultant partnership includes one-on-one check-ins to discuss work feedback, training opportunities, career planning, and general support. Many consultants come with prior teaching experience and provide valuable advice and best practices, ensuring that educators feel confident and prepared in their roles. This close support network, combined with competitive compensation, creates a compelling workplace for those passionate about education and making a difference in students' lives.
The role available is for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), a critical position in supporting students with special needs, particularly those who require behavioral therapy and developmental assistance. This position is hourly, non-exempt, and offers pay between $30.00 and $32.00 per hour, varying depending on factors such as location, role, certification, and assignment. Pay is typically higher for longer-term placements. Employees are W-2 staff, providing ease around tax withholding and benefits. Scoot Education reimburses onboarding costs like state background checks and training expenses after the completion of the first shift.
In this role, you will work closely with students with special needs in one-on-one or small group settings. You will assist with moderate to severe scenarios involving personal care, toileting, non-verbal students, and managing challenging or aggressive behaviors in the classroom. Creating a safe and nurturing learning environment is essential. Additionally, you will support resource teachers in delivering Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), following the guidance of lead educators, and managing medically fragile or high-behavior situations. Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, walk, and safely lift up to 30 pounds while assisting students.
Scoot Education seeks candidates with a valid RBT certification, experience in behavioral therapy, and working with students with developmental disabilities. A minimum of one year’s experience working with children or adults with special needs, or one year of experience in a classroom or educational setting, is required. An Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree, or at least 48 college credits is necessary, along with three references, including one from a previous supervisor. The company values additional skills such as special education-specific training, applied behavior analysis (ABA) experience, and bilingual abilities.
Scoot Education is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to fair employment practices regardless of race, religion, gender, identity, or any protected class. The organization emphasizes merit-based hiring and fosters a positive, inclusive workplace culture. By joining Scoot Education, educators become part of a community focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and local communities. With flexible scheduling, professional development assistance, and a referral program, this position offers both purposeful work and supportive benefits. Apply today to start building your career while inspiring students and empowering communities.
