Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the hotel industry
- prior leadership roles or general manager assignments with responsibility for multiple units
- operations experience
- bilingual in Spanish and English

- ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent relevant experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in hotel industry preferred
- prior leadership roles or GM assignments with responsibility for multiple units
- operations experience or GM assignments with responsibility for multiple units
- excellent food and beverage, event management, rooms operations, revenue management, human resources, and quality assurance skills
- experience with strategic planning, budgeting, negotiating and interpreting contracts, SOPs, and project management
- demonstrated ability to operate in a highly matrix organization and leverage centralized resources
- ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously
- demonstrated ability to deliver results in complex and ambiguous conditions
- experience evaluating business trends and risks and implementing new business programs and strategies
- track record of creating positive and influential owner relationships
- bilingual in Spanish and English
- preferred graduate degree such as MBA

Job Duties
- Maintain brand standards and drive brand differentiation for assigned lodging brands within area
- Utilize property, continent, and centralized corporate services to ensure operational excellence
- Conduct comparative analyses and gather/share best practices to gain efficiency and productivity in hotel operations across the continent
- Collaborate on new hotel development
- Deliver balanced scorecard results across area of responsibility
- Approve property and area customer engagement/guest satisfaction goals and ensure action plans are being executed
- Ensure property Pulse Survey action plans are being executed
- Accountability for selection and performance management of property General Managers
- Accountability for developing bench strength for GM level and GT levels
- Accountability for initiating the Peak Performance for property GMs and conducting performance reviews
- Review sales goals and strategies in area to ensure alignment with the brand business strategy and proper pricing and positioning
- Develop effective revenue management strategies and set aggressive goals that drive financial performance
- Monitor and communicate changes regarding market conditions
- Leverage continent sales engines and initiate proactive sales activities to generate demand
- Accountable for P&L performance of area hotels
- Partner with President to conduct property level financial critiques
- Partner with President to review and approve property operating budgets and CapEx plans
- Develop strategies to improve properties’ financial performance
- Accountable for cost containment and leveraging efforts
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, and Finance to effectively manage P&L
- Direct capital expenditure funds toward priorities
- Leverage contracts negotiated with retailers and vendors to benefit properties
- Establish and maintain relationships with owners
- Manage balance between owner interests and Marriott interests
- Build owner loyalty through communication, expectation management, and problem solving
- Maintain knowledge of loan and management contract requirements
- Ensure compliance with contract, owner obligations, and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with FBP and asset managers for business reviews
- Serve as first level escalation for owner issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
- Serve as brand point of contact in continent team and act as secondary spokesperson for external media
