The Regional Sales Manager - Global Rental Sales for Sports Illustrated Resorts at Travel + Leisure Co. is a vital role responsible for spearheading rental sales and marketing initiatives across multiple resort sites within a specific region. This full-time position involves managing and maximizing rental usage to achieve budgeted room nights, revenue goals, and forecasts through the implementation of comprehensive business plans. The role often includes supervision responsibilities over Sales Coordinators and may extend to overseeing overall operations and performance related to rental sales, whole owner relations, quality assurance, and revenue management depending on the location.
The manager’s primary duties revolve around developing new accounts and growing existing accounts by leveraging strong relationships within the transient, group, and travel trade markets. They maintain an organized and up-to-date client service filing system and actively prospect new business opportunities by defining market mix, pricing, and identifying marketing opportunities. Local travel industry relationships are nurtured to gauge market trends, competitor activity, and customer strategies. The position requires conducting presentations to call centers, attending key travel industry meetings and tradeshows, and ensuring seamless collaboration between resort operations and the sales team. The manager is also responsible for preparing written marketing plans, motivating sales assistants where applicable, and ensuring positive working relationships within the team.
In addition to account sales and management, the role dedicates significant focus to yield management techniques. This includes collaborating with the Yield Team to negotiate room rates, function spaces, wholesale and OTA accounts to optimize profitability. Regular rental forecasting reviews and competitive rate analyses are essential components of the position. Another critical aspect is maintaining product knowledge through market research and competitor analysis to capitalize on resort strengths and address weaknesses effectively.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7 to 10 years of experience in hotel or timeshare rental sales and marketing
- 3 to 5 years of experience with 3rd party tour operators and OTAs
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant sales systems
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and develop new business opportunities
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Knowledge of hotel operations and revenue management
- Ability to prepare marketing plans and perform competitive analysis
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Managerial level experience in sales and/or reservations center
- 7 to 10 years of hotel and/or timeshare rental experience in sales, catering, operations and marketing
- Experience with 3rd party tour operators and OTAs for 3 to 5 years
- Knowledge of timeshare industry
- Knowledge of hotel sales and marketing
- Effective leadership with strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with Delphi, Opera, Micros Opera, RCC and I Hotelier systems
- Experience in budgeting and business planning
Job Duties
- Meet and exceed revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current accounts
- Maintain well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management system to service clients
- Prospect new business opportunities within transient, group and travel trade markets
- Develop local travel industry and business relationships within each destination to understand market trends, competitors, and customer strategies
- Conduct presentations to call centers, attend travel industry meetings, site inspections, tradeshows and GSI events
- Ensure positive working relationships between resort operations and sales team
- Prepare written marketing plans by region and manage sales plan effectively
- Monitor and direct Sales Assistant, provide motivation, support, encouragement and direction
- Collaborate with Yield Team and use yield management techniques to negotiate room rates, function space, wholesale and OTA accounts
- Perform weekly rental forecasting and monthly results analysis
- Conduct ongoing competitive rate analysis for resorts
- Conduct market research, surveys, and personal investigations to capitalize on resort strengths
- Perform competitor analysis to understand weaknesses and capabilities
- Other duties as assigned
