Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in education or emergency response
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in school operations
  • At least 1 year of management experience
  • Certifications in ICS, NIMS, CRASE, CPR, First Aid, STB, BTA
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed
  • Must be willing to work full-time in San Antonio with hybrid remote/on-site options
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle high-stress emergency situations
  • Physical ability to coordinate large groups and set up emergency stations
  • Commitment to IDEA's core values and safety culture

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in education or emergency response
  • At least 2 years of experience in school operations
  • Minimum 1 year of successful management experience
  • Licenses or certifications including ICS, NIMS, CRASE, CPR, First Aid, STB, BTA
  • Knowledge of school safety programs and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong prioritization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong relationship-building and leadership abilities
  • Experience in coaching and professional development

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with regional leadership and external emergency responders during campus emergencies
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of safety incidents including after-action reviews
  • Act as liaison between campuses and local law enforcement, fire, and emergency agencies
  • Assist with activation of regional Emergency Response Team during critical incidents
  • Manage emergency communication mechanisms and coordinate crisis response efforts regionally
  • Coordinate with the Communications team to provide timely messaging during emergencies
  • Lead training sessions for regional and campus emergency response teams
  • Conduct routine assessments of safety protocols, emergency equipment, and facilities
  • Perform intruder detection audits for compliance with state requirements
  • Coordinate and evaluate emergency drills ensuring compliance with district and state mandates
  • Provide oversight and support for biannual safety audits across campuses
  • Participate actively in Campus Crisis Team meetings
  • Partner with Facilities teams to ensure compliance with door sweep audits
  • Analyze regional safety data to recommend improvements
  • Maintain composure and manage multiple safety tasks simultaneously
  • Advocate and hold others accountable for safety standards and procedures
