FreshPoint is a prominent foodservice distributor committed to delivering high-quality fresh produce and exceptional customer service to a diverse range of clients. As a leading subsidiary of Sysco Corporation, FreshPoint plays a pivotal role in the foodservice industry by offering an extensive selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable products. The company serves restaurants, healthcare facilities, hospitality organizations, and various retail segments, all while emphasizing sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. FreshPoint's dedication to fostering strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders has established it as a trusted partner in the food distribution sector. Known for its employee-centric approach, FreshPoint values collaboration, professional growth, and community involvement, providing a dynamic environment where employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the company’s success.
This job opportunity at FreshPoint is a hybrid sales position that primarily operates remotely but requires up to 50 percent travel, along with periodic onsite presence at FreshPoint locations. The flexibility of the remote work environment combined with the necessary travel and on-site engagements underscores the role's dynamic nature, offering exposure to multiple market segments and opportunities to build strategic relationships with clients and internal teams. Reporting directly to the Director of New Business Development, this position focuses on enhancing FreshPoint’s market position and driving financial growth through strategic planning, business opportunity identification, and contract negotiation. The Regional New Business Developer is instrumental in fostering new customer relationships and seamlessly transitioning new accounts to FreshPoint's sales force.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with senior leadership across multiple operating companies to craft a comprehensive business development strategy targeting local street, local contract, and retail segments. The position requires leveraging data analytics to identify sales segment opportunities and applying creative sales strategies to capitalize on emerging markets. This role involves managing end-to-end business development processes from identifying prospects to executing sales plans, coordinating with sales teams, and contributing to profit planning and performance tracking. Additionally, this position necessitates a deep understanding of the foodservice industry, competitor analysis, and attendance at industry functions to stay abreast of market trends and innovations.
The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma at minimum, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business administration. Candidates should bring at least five years of proven experience in opening new business within the foodservice industry. Preferred experience includes foodservice sales and restaurant management or chef experience. Mastery of consultative selling, marketing principles, prospecting, networking, and negotiation skills are paramount, alongside proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM tools like Salesforce. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are a must to navigate the fast-paced environment and diverse stakeholder interactions effectively.
FreshPoint offers an engaging career with varied duties such as conducting customer business reviews, planning sales activities, participating in food shows, and utilizing proprietary technology tools to boost customer engagement. Employees are encouraged to partake in ongoing training, maintain meticulous records, and support team initiatives, all aimed at achieving sustained business growth and customer satisfaction. This position offers a competitive salary aligned with the industry and company standards, reflecting its critical role in FreshPoint’s expansion and market leadership strategies.
