Job Description

7-Eleven is a globally recognized leader in the convenience store industry, boasting over 86,000 locations worldwide, making it the largest retailer across the globe. Established as an iconic family of brands, 7-Eleven has revolutionized the convenience, restaurant, and fuel sectors through cutting-edge innovation. The company is deeply committed to being the customer's first choice by providing exceptional service and convenience. Its workplace culture encourages employees to "activate awesome" by making impactful contributions in their stores and local communities every day. 7-Eleven offers a dynamic and evolving work environment where employees have the opportunity to grow professionally, lead initiatives, and make a meaningful difference.

The Regional Maintenance Trainer III role within the Facilities Department reports directly to the Regional Maintenance Training Supervisor and plays a critical part in supporting the operational excellence of 7-Eleven stores. This position is dedicated to developing and delivering comprehensive technical training programs focused on commercial HVAC and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems, essential for maintaining optimal store operations. The HVAC/R Trainer is tasked with ensuring that field technicians are fully competent in servicing and troubleshooting advanced commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, including retail and convenience store environments.

This role requires hands-on experience and expertise with various refrigerants such as R-448A, R-290 (propane systems), R-404A, and legacy R-22 systems. The Trainer must be well-versed in the use of equipment platforms like Carrier commercial HVAC/R systems, Tutin Labs diagnostics, and Advanced Leak Systems (ALS). Additionally, training covers applications involving rack systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, and other refrigeration environments typical within retail convenience stores.

The Regional Maintenance Trainer III is responsible for delivering structured training programs for both new hires and existing technicians, which includes conducting ride-alongs, field coaching, and hands-on sessions. The role involves the continual development and maintenance of training materials, standard operating procedures, and technical guides to ensure compliance with EPA regulations, safety protocols, and corporate standards. The Trainer also evaluates technician performance, identifies skill gaps, and provides ongoing support for troubleshooting and advanced diagnostics. Staying current with emerging HVAC/R technologies and refrigerant regulations is a key expectation to maintain the relevance and quality of training content.

This position requires an individual capable of strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical, accessible training for diverse audiences. Experience in scheduling and managing field operations is preferred, along with leadership or prior training experience to inspire and mentor technicians effectively.

The work environment for the Regional Maintenance Trainer III is a blend of classroom instruction and field-based training. Travel up to 50% of the time is required to support on-site technicians and conduct regional training sessions. The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $38.50 per hour, reflecting the company's commitment to competitive and fair compensation. 7-Eleven adheres to a fair and equitable employment policy, including consideration of qualified applicants with criminal histories in compliance with local fair chance hiring initiatives.
