Job Description
Ruan is a well-established transportation and logistics company with a rich history spanning over 90 years. Known for its commitment to safety and people-first culture, Ruan specializes in delivering efficient, reliable freight services across various regions of the United States. The company prides itself on its robust network and dedicated team, delivering comprehensive logistics solutions that support a wide range of industries. Ruan's focus on innovation, safety, and employee development has positioned it as a leader in the trucking and logistics sector, attracting drivers who value stability, competitive pay, and professional growth opportunities.
This job opening is for Class A CDL Flex Drivers, a critical and dynamic role within Ruan’s fleet. Flex drivers play an essential part in supporting various customer locations and operations nationwide, particularly where extra driving support is needed. Unlike traditional routes, flex drivers have the opportunity to work at different sites around the country, responding to last-minute call-offs, scheduled paid time off, and open routes. This role is designed for drivers who thrive in varying environments and possess a flexible schedule. Drivers are guaranteed a minimum of 50 hours per week with Monday through Friday shifts from 2 PM to midnight. Additionally, flex drivers may assist with training new hires and participate in dock work when routes do not require driving. This balance of driving and warehouse responsibilities offers a varied and engaging work experience.
Flex drivers operate a diverse range of equipment depending on customer needs, including no-touch freight, driver assist unloads, and tarping. The position requires a Hazmat endorsement before the start date, while forklift experience is desired and training is available. Flex drivers are eligible to earn $40 per hour straight time, amounting to an average annual income of approximately $104,000, with pay distributed weekly. The company emphasizes a safe and supportive working environment where drivers know they will have consistent work opportunities because the company proactively dispatches flex drivers wherever there is a demand.
Ruan supports its employees with competitive benefits, including health, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance. Additional benefits include prescription drug coverage, paid time off with holidays and earned vacations, and a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching. The company’s commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment further highlights its inclusive work culture. Drivers interested in this role must meet certain requirements, including being at least 22 years old, maintaining a clean driving record with limited moving violations, and complying with Department of Transportation standards such as creating a profile in the DOT's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse before hiring. Overall, Ruan offers a stable, rewarding driving career for Class A CDL professionals seeking a flexible schedule and the ability to contribute to a nationally recognized logistics company.
