Job Description

Ruan is a well-established transportation and logistics company with over 90 years of experience, dedicated to providing excellent trucking and freight solutions across the United States. Known for its 'People First, Safety Focus' philosophy, Ruan emphasizes the importance of employee well-being and safety while delivering reliable customer service. The company offers career opportunities in various trucking roles, including dedicated and regional drives, with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Ruan’s reputation as an industry leader comes from its commitment to safety, employee support, and long-term business relationships.

The current job opening is for a Class A CDL Flex Driver supporting Ruan's dedicated LKQ customer, with a domicile based out of Janesville, Wisconsin. This role involves flexible over-the-road driving assignments, where drivers are sent to different customer locations and operations around the United States that require additional coverage. Flex drivers are valued for their adaptability as they travel widely, ensuring customer needs are met wherever the demand is highest. The pay rate for this position is $40 per hour straight time, with a guaranteed 50-hour workweek providing a consistent income.

Working as a Flex Driver for Ruan entails five weeks of over-the-road duty followed by one consecutive week of home time, allowing for a healthy work-life balance despite the challenging nature of long-haul driving. The schedule and start times vary depending on the destination and customer site assignments, ensuring flexibility and variety in daily work life. Drivers operate different types of equipment tailored to the customer's needs, which may include no-touch freight, driver-assist unloading, and tarping duties. A tank endorsement and Hazmat endorsement are mandatory, with Ruan assisting in obtaining the Hazmat endorsement within 60 days of hire. Forklift experience is preferred but not essential as training is provided.

Ruan also requires drivers to have valid identification with Real ID and U.S. Passport, reflecting the diverse operating regions and compliance with federal regulations. The company values safety and compliance and welcomes applicants with no more than three moving violations and limited preventable accidents within the past three years. Drivers must meet Department of Transportation qualifications, including creating a profile with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. Flex drivers enjoy a supportive environment with access to competitive and affordable health and wellness benefits designed to protect the driver and their family. Overall, this role offers a stable and rewarding career path for experienced CDL drivers seeking variety, competitive pay, and a company dedicated to employee and customer satisfaction.
