Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 to 5 years of experience in event planning or management
- Experience with fundraising or donor-facing events preferred
- Knowledge of greater Atlanta community preferred
- Ability to manage event logistics including venue sourcing and budgeting
- Strong project management and multitasking skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in productivity tools
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work varied schedule including evenings and weekends
- Based in Atlanta
- Ability to perform physical activities associated with event management
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, hospitality, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in event planning or management
- Demonstrated experience executing high-quality events at scale
- Experience with fundraising or donor-facing events strongly preferred
- Familiarity with nonprofit development operations a plus
- Knowledge of the greater Atlanta community with existing ties preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously including venue sourcing, vendor contracts, catering, audiovisual production, run-of-show development, and budget oversight
- Strong project management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player with experience working across departments
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Experience with event management software, CRM platforms, or Salesforce is a plus
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
Job Duties
- Design, plan, and execute all fundraising events, donor cultivation events, and stewardship experiences that advance development goals
- Partner with the Development team to align event strategy with donor pipeline priorities, sponsorship goals, and campaign timelines
- Manage all event logistics including venue sourcing, vendor contracts, catering, audio-visual production, run-of-show development, and budget oversight
- Develop post-event reporting including attendance data, funds raised, and donor engagement metrics to inform continuous improvement
- Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure event materials, invitations, and digital promotions are on-brand and delivered on schedule
- Support the stewardship of key donors and sponsors through personalized event experiences and VIP engagement touchpoints
- Create and execute a regional calendar of family and community engagement events designed to strengthen partnerships
- Create and implement Standard Operating Procedure for events across all 11 schools ensuring consistent quality and equitable access
- Partner with school leaders, Family Engagement Liaisons, and community stakeholders to identify event needs and co-design programming
- Manage logistics for external community-facing events
- Track attendance and engagement data to evaluate impact and identify growth opportunities
- Provide coordination support for internal convenings including One Team Celebration, Homecoming, and Leaderweek
- Serve as a cross-functional events resource collaborating with Talent and People, Marketing and Communications, and Development teams
- Co-manage organizational events calendar to align internal and external events and avoid conflicts
- Support vendor and event planner relationships including contract coordination, site visits, and logistics for multi-team events
- Provide on-site event support and serve as day-of logistics lead for strategically visible events
