Job Requirements
- Based in or near Tucson
- 5 or more years of experience in sales, specifically in DMC, incentive travel, event management or related field preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism, business management, marketing, communication or related field preferred
- Must have knowledge of client development and sales processes
- Must possess ability to develop program designs and solutions
- Proficient in negotiating contracts and managing client relationships
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex documents
- Must be able to travel regularly for client meetings, events, and site inspections
- Must be able to work primarily from home while maintaining client engagement
- Proficient in Salesforce or similar CRM for tracking sales and financials
Job Qualifications
- 5 or more years of sales experience in DMC, incentive travel, event management or related field preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism, Business Management, Marketing, Communication or related degree preferred
- Knowledge of client development including new business development, lead follow-up, qualifying clients, proposal presentation, and closing business
- Knowledge of program design and development from inception through contract
- Proven ability to consistently meet sales goals
- Ability to provide solutions and resources to challenges during program development and sales
- Ability to interpret, define, and document complex program requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain strong supplier, partner, hotelier, and community relations
- Skilled in negotiating terms with suppliers and partners
- Professional representation of PRA at client meetings, site inspections, industry and association functions, partner meetings, and staff meetings
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret RFPs, contracts, financial reports, and other legal documents
- Competence in responding to inquiries or complaints from clients and partners
- Proficient in report preparation, business correspondence, proposal and sales report writing
- Effective presentation and communication skills
- Proficiency in calculating program costs, profit margins, and other financial computations involved in proposal development and contract negotiation
Job Duties
- Increase overall sales volume by developing key relationships with new and existing accounts
- Manage and maintain existing key account relationships and develop new business opportunities
- Participate in industry organizations and local community to foster business growth and achieve leadership status
- Qualify leads expertly and develop innovative program strategies to meet and exceed annual sales goals
- Collaborate with experience designers and creative teams to tailor proposals that align with client goals and budget
- Conduct site inspections and build personal rapport with clients
- Finalize business deals, ensure contracts and deposits are secured before transitioning to event production
- Quantify projected budgets and track revenue and profitability in Salesforce
- Manage travel and client marketing budgets with appropriate approvals
- Initiate sales calls and follow-up communications
- Update hoteliers and clients on venue and service developments
- Provide client contact availability during program execution
- Work closely with business development on referral leads
- Collaborate with experience designers and event producers to meet client expectations
- Ensure sales and gross profit goals are met while exceeding client expectations
- Follow up with clients for future opportunities and generate leads through the pay it forward program
- Stay current with industry trends and developments
- Partner with and educate the global sales team on local market opportunities
- Implement and execute a business and marketing plan for the destination
