The Corporate Director of Food & Beverage Operations role within Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group for the Americas region is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving innovation, operational excellence, and consistent execution across Hyatt’s diverse portfolio of managed, licensed, and franchised properties. This role serves as a strategic and operational business partner to the Vice President of Food & Beverage Operations, ensuring alignment with Hyatt’s brand standards and optimizing food and beverage performance across all outlets. The position requires oversight of pre-opening, ramp-up, renovations, and transitions, guaranteeing operational readiness and compliance while driving profitability. The Corporate Director works cross-functionally with regional support departments—including Culinary, Finance, HR, Brand, Design, Marketing, and IT—to uphold operational best practices and budget goals. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hotel management, hospitality, food and beverage, or culinary preferred but not required
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (60-80%) to support property visits, training, and operational initiatives
- Experience with food and beverage financial systems and advanced Excel proficiency
- Strong communication, presentation, and training abilities
- Must have worked in at least four different restaurants and bars
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in food and beverage operations
- Minimum of 5 years as director overseeing food and beverage department
- Proficient in standard business software and POS systems
- Agile leadership skills and service orientation
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking
- Self-starter able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Active and current understanding of artificial intelligence
- Spanish speaking is a plus
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in food and beverage hotel and restaurant operations, hospitality management, or a related business function
- Minimum of 5 years as a director overseeing a food and beverage department with signature restaurants and bars
- Experience working in at least four different restaurants and bars
- Skilled at building relationships and working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across brands and regions
- Demonstrates agile leadership qualities including adaptability, collaboration, and a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate insights into action
- Highly proficient with food and beverage technology, digital platforms, and data-driven decision-making
- Strong financial acumen including hands-on experience in financial systems, forecasting, and profit and loss management
- Proficient in business software such as Word, Excel, Canva, PowerPoint, financial reporting tools like Hyperion/Essbase, Outlook, Mac, OpenTable, and Oracle Simphony
- Active and up-to-date understanding of artificial intelligence
- Service-oriented with excellent communication, presentation, and training skills
- Self-starter capable of thriving independently and in cross-functional environments
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic setting
Job Duties
- Provides oversight and guidance to ensure hotels maintain operational readiness, achieve service excellence, and consistently meet Hyatt’s brand and quality standards across all food and beverage initiatives
- Work cross functionally with regional support leadership including Culinary, Finance, HR, Brand, Design, Marketing, and IT to drive budgeted revenues and gross operating profit for the region’s food and beverage
- Drive consistency and execution of food and beverage initiatives across all brands and properties
- Participate in property visits and consulting assignments
- Monitor and hold operational, purchasing, and menu programming standards in the region’s outlets and collaborate with department heads to take corrective action where needed
- Analyze competitive products and ensure staff are aware of trends
- Manage food and beverage proformas, consulting visits, and pilot implementations to enhance productivity and profitability
- Support hotel openings, renovations, and transitions, ensuring design efficiency and compliance
- Lead talent development initiatives including selection, training, mentoring, and succession planning for front of house and kitchen leaders
- Develop and monitor brand-level food and beverage KPIs and lead data collection and analysis
- Oversee food and beverage audit processes to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and brand standards
- Provide insights, recommendations, and KPI reporting to senior leadership
