Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
  • knowledge of basic principles of food preparation and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math skills for measuring and counting
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • physical capability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare a variety of dishes
  • ready workstations with all necessary tools and ingredients
  • prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling
  • safely handle utensils including knives
  • operate kitchen appliances such as ovens, cookers, mixers, and cutting machinery
  • use cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare foods
  • structure, enhance, and portion cuisine according to established guidelines
  • maintain food quality and safety through proper storage
  • sanitize and maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • deliver excellent customer service and maintain a positive, approachable demeanor
  • comply with food safety and sanitation procedures
  • uphold safety measures for organizational resources
