Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working as a cook or in a related kitchen role
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Capability to handle physical demands of the role including lifting and standing for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role required
  • Validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare dishes
  • Ready workstations with all necessary tools and ingredients
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling
  • Use various utensils and kitchen appliances safely
  • Employ different cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • Structure, enhance, and portion cuisine based on regulations
  • Maintain food quality and safety through proper storage and sanitation
