Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a cook or in a related kitchen role
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to obtain food safety certification
- Basic math proficiency
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Capability to handle physical demands of the role including lifting and standing for long periods
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role required
- Validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- Follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare dishes
- Ready workstations with all necessary tools and ingredients
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling
- Use various utensils and kitchen appliances safely
- Employ different cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- Structure, enhance, and portion cuisine based on regulations
- Maintain food quality and safety through proper storage and sanitation
