Working as part of Aramark’s food services team, you will follow standardized recipes and production instructions while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and sanitation. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, managing your workstation, handling kitchen appliances safely, and applying multiple cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. Your role will also require portioning and presenting dishes according to established guidelines, guaranteeing that all food served adheres to company and regulatory food safety policies.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience
  • knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • adherence to food safety standards
  • capability to obtain relevant food safety certification
  • strong communication skills
  • physical stamina and ability to perform kitchen duties

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
  • validated knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare various dishes
  • ready the workstation with necessary tools and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, blend, cut, trim, and peel food items
  • safely use kitchen utensils and appliances including ovens, cookers, mixers, and cutting tools
  • apply cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • portion and present dishes according to regulations
  • maintain food quality and safety through proper storage
  • keep work areas, equipment, and utensils sanitary
  • deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a positive and approachable attitude
