Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or culinary roles
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
  • strong attention to detail
  • willingness to obtain food safety certification if not already certified
  • excellent communication skills
  • physical stamina to meet job demands

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • effective interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical capability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing and walking

Job Duties

  • Follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare diverse dishes
  • ready the workstation with all necessary tools and ingredients
  • prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling
  • safely use various utensils including knives
  • operate appliances such as ovens, cookers, mixers, and cutting machinery
  • apply cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • portion and enhance cuisine according to established guidelines
  • maintain food quality and safety through proper storage and sanitation
  • ensure cleanliness and germ-free environment in work areas and utensils
  • provide excellent customer service with a positive demeanor
  • comply with safety protocols emphasizing food safety and sanitation
  • uphold safety standards for organizational resources
